About Your Stay
Coffee & Tea
We get lots of questions about the coffee / tea situation.
Coffee: We have a mini Keurig with an assortment of regular, decaf, and flavored k-cups. We also provide a metal pour over filter if you want to bring your own coffee.
Tea: We provide a kettle and a variety of caffeinated and herbal teas

We also provide:
-
Sugar
-
Sweet & Low
-
Stevia packets
-
Half & Half
-
Non-dairy creamer (e.g. coffee mate)

Other options:
-
We have fresh-brewed coffee available at the Oasis snack bar as soon as we open. Check our website for hours of operation.
-
We have seltzers, bottled water, soda, and hot chocolate available in our Camp Store
-
The water from all faucets and spigots in the campground is potable!
Outdoor Lights
Each site has a string of bistro lights around the outdoor seating area.
-
Automatic timer - The bistro lights are programmed to come on at 6pm and turn off at 10pm (the start of quiet hours).

-
Lights out at 10pm - All bistro lights should go off at 10pm. Just because 10pm is beddy-bye-bumpkins time doesn’t mean you can’t continue enjoying your time outside. All we ask is that you keep the lights off and keep your voices down. You can even keep the fire going!

-
Manual operation - If you notice that your lights did not turn on or off at 6pm or 10pm, or you want to control them manually, follow the lights back to where they are plugged in and you should see a timer switch with a circular button. Press the button to turn the lights on and off. (Please make sure they go off by 10pm though!)
Fire Pit
Please do not leave your dog alone to tend the fire, no matter how much they are begging for marshmallows.
Your site has an outdoor seating area with a fire pit so you can enjoy a cozy fire during your stay.
-
Supplies - You can buy firewood, fire starters, and matches from our Camp Store which is open 24x7.

-
Grilling - The fire pits come with an integrated grill that can be used for cooking food. We don’t recommend placing food directly onto the grill because the grill grates are a little wide and covered with rust, but you can cook over the fire quite well by using aluminum foil. If you want to use a pot or pan, we ask that you bring your own!

-
Poker - A poker is available if you need it.

-
Fire Pit Safety and Guidelines:
-
Please do not leave fires unattended
-
Please do not burn random things in the fire pit (i.e. anything other than fire starters and firewood)
-
Please do not leave trash in the fire pit
-
Please do not move the fire pit
-
Please use your own campfire cookware for the fire pit.
-
True story: we once had someone call and ask if they could show up in their van and use one of our fire pits to burn some documents. How many documents? A lot of documents. We were so, so intrigued about the nature of these documents, but ultimately we declined.

A Gentle Warning about... Bugs
You will encounter bugs. They are outdoors, and unavoidable.
Some bugs we recommend not touching! In particular, if you have spent any time in southern Maine, you might be familiar with brown tail moth caterpillars. From late May until the end of June you may encounter these caterpillars in the campground. The hairs on brown tail caterpillars can cause an itchy rash if you touch them! You can identify them by the two red dots on their back. If you have one climbing on your picnic table or your Adirondack chair for example, you can usually just flick it away with a stick, but try to do it gently so it doesn't leave behind any of its hairs. While we do our best to treat our oak trees to kill these invasive pests, the reality is we can't eliminate them entirely. As long as you are aware of them, you can avoid getting a rash.
